Getting started

Create an account, set up your first business and decide whether to start with sample data.

Create your account

  1. Go to Create account, enter your name, company name, email and a password, and accept the Terms of Service.
  2. Confirm your email address from the link we send. Confirming lets you reset your password later.
  3. You are taken to the setup screen for your first business.

Set up your business

Setup has six short steps. You can go back at any point, and Skip ahead jumps to the last step.

  1. Business — the name, and optionally a phone number and email.
  2. Industry — pick the template closest to your trade (for example Hardware Store, Pharmacy or Clothing & Fashion). Templates only configure item types, fields, units and modules; you can change all of it later.
  3. Modules — tick the parts of the app you want (Purchasing, Sales, Point of Sale, Assets, Rentals, Repairs & Service, Expenses, Manufacturing). Inventory and Reports are always on.
  4. Currency & region — base currency, country, timezone and the month your fiscal year starts.
  5. Warehouse — the name of your first stock location.
  6. Data — switch on Load demo data to get sample items, suppliers and customers with opening stock. It is safe to delete later.

Your first day

  • Add products with Add item, or import a CSV from Products → Import.
  • Record what you already have as opening stock while adding each item.
  • Invite your team from Settings → Team.
  • Set reorder levels on the items you can’t run out of.

What you need

  • A current web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There is no app to install; on a phone the layout changes and a bottom bar gives you Inventory, Add, Scan, Transfer and Count.
  • An internet connection. DataItemize doesn’t work offline.
  • Optionally a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner. They type into any field; a phone camera can scan on the Scan screen.

Dates and currencies

Each business chooses a base currency at setup. Documents can be in other currencies, with the exchange rate saved on each one. Dates can be shown in AD, Bikram Sambat or both side by side (Settings → Business), with BS month names in English or Nepali script. The interface itself is in English.
